Sundays are BORING! - Los Domingos son ABURRIDOS!

Hi everyone!
Today I decided to start writting this blog not only in English but also in my native language Spanish, so I can get to more and more people with it. I know.. is kind of stupid "If she speaks Spanish everyday, why does she writes this in English"... well I guess I'm really stupid, I wanted to practice my English and really didn't thought about writing in both languages in a same entry hehehe... yeah, I know what you might be thinking... so, anyway... From now on I'll write in English and Spanish.

Alright.. changing of subject, starting on Monday (yes... tomorrow) I'll be working (well really... making practices) in a design studio (Yay!) and so this means... I won't have more free time (Buuu!) which leaves me with a long list of unwatched Dramas and Animes, and my summer project withouth even being started... I was planning on creating a kind of beta version of a "Spanish Online Hogwarts" but in a RPG mode, I played a few months ago in Potter's World and I just loved it but I had a really hard time writting my entries because of my knowledge of the English language... also... I don't really know a lot about the UK and English people (Yeah it sucks I really want to learn more about that!) so I had some troubles while writing about my character and all... anyway... so I'll have to leave that for later and really focus on what I'll be doing starting tomorrow, wish me luck!

Well I guess that's all for today, my life isn't that fun =(...well it won't get fun until Jun 29th hahaha but well is just my life.. and I can't wait to be in Kansas!! I miss everyone in there, the sad thing about it is that Bas, one of my exchange-friends is not coming... I guess I'll have to save money and visit him in Thailand next time. Right.. well.. I have to stop crying and start saving *cashing!* It will be hard but I will have to do it.

Okay see ya soon and if your first language is not Spanish and want to practice or learn it then you should read the next text... is the same you just read but in Spanish =).

Drama's I've been watching lately...

Konnichiwa!
I'm happy to be writting here again and well this time I'll be talking about the drama series I've been watching recently.

I have always loved Japanese anime and some mangas but I never watched dramas until a few months ago. I always thought that they were boring and just like the mexican "telenovelas" (soap operas), but a friend told me about an anime she used to watch when she lived in Japan (Thanks a lot Mag!! I can't stop watching them!!), it was "Nodame Cantabile" and well I watched until the end but then I found the Drama version and I started watching it, so by the end of the serie I just couldn't stop searching and I also read the manga hehehe. Then after that because I was in school I couldn't watch that many animes or dramas so I just kept listenning to what my friends from Graphic Design told me about other dramas, I wanted to watch them soo bad but school was pretty busy.

A couple weeks ago another friend from Kansas (Aly) showed me a page where you can watch Korean and Japanese dramas so I watched two of the ones she recomend me: "Lovers in Paris" and "Sweet 18"... I loved both, I just didn't like the "Lovers in Paris" ending and the fact that it took soo much to get to an ending, besides that they were just perfect! (And yeah those series are all about love so if you're not a girl you wont really like them).

After that I just wanted to wach more and more dramas so another friend (this time from college) gave me a long list of drama's. To make the long story short I'll tell you that my new favorite drama series are:

"Hana Yori Dango" which is a story about a girl that is attending at a rich kid's High School and well she's poor so she sees all the differences between social classes and also the school is rulled by a group of 4 boys who are the sons of the richiest families in Japan and they call themselves F4 or Flower 4 (kind of silly the name...). So anyone who goes against them starts being bulled by them. Is a very cool story and I personally feel identified by it... I went to private schools here in Mexico almost all my life and the last one I attended was full of rich kids so everyone's favorite hobby was to get expensive silly things and then make fun of anyone who didn't have one like them. So anyway, is a great drama, a must watch one!

My second favorite is "Hana Kimi". This story is about a girl that lives in the States and moves to Japan, she starts attending an all-boys high school (she disguise her as a boy) where a guy who she likes goes and well... the story is all about how she have to hide her secret and what she does there... I can't really explain it well because I would be telling all the story but I truly recommend it!

And finally the one I mentioned before "Nodame Cantabile" This one is just great, is about a girl and a guy who attend to a Japanese Conservatoire and well both play the piano and he also plays the violin, but his dream is to become the conductor of an orchestra. So the story develops around that and also the girl's crush on him. Pretty good and funny!

That's all I guess.. so if you guys are interested in finding more about which animes I have watched just ask me =), and if you have recommendations leave them here, I'll love to watch them!

My life in the States.

Hullo, well today I'll be talking about my time in the States.

So... like I've said before, I lived in the States 2 years ago and my time in there was just wonderfull, I truly enjoyed my stay in Overland Park, a city which is close to Kansas City, KS. I met lots of people and made new friends, had the best host family I could have and went to a unique school... well it really wasn't that unique but for me was great!

Those 10 months were awfully long but at the same time too short for me and at the end I had mixed up feelings... I wanted to come back and see my parents and family here in México, but I also wanted to stay and keep living in the States so I could go out with my American friends to art galleries, to the park or the malls, or just sit down in any random place to talk about the differences between our cultures.

At the beginning I had some troubles with the language, I had some knowledge of the English language but I just couldn't speak it.. at my schools in México they always taught me how to write it (and I know that I still have flaws) and also to read it but I was never able to speak it right. So on my first weeks I could barely communicate with my host family, school was pretty hard because I just understood a couple of things that were being explained, but as the months passed by I began learning lots of new words and my vocab expanded. Right after Christmas I began dreaming and thinking in English, it was quite shocking but fun, and then I started making new friends. At first, when I felt lonely I just wanted to come back but when that happened I just began thinking of how dissapointed my parents would be so I tried hard to not think or even remember a thing about home, it worked for me too well that I really didn't missed my family or friends until the 8th month, I really didn't cried until then (well I cried before but not that much).

I truly recommend to everyone to live and study in another country at least once in their life, people learn how to be independent, how to treat people from other countries and cultures, and gets to learn another language.

And if you are planning on going to the States with an exchange program I recommend Pacific Intercultural Exchange (P.I.E.) and the Kansas City area... the west and east coast are fun but very expensive, the center, south and north are just as great as the coasts sides. Oh and California and Arizona, even though I love to go there, are just too hot... I don't recommend it.

Also, if you need any help with exchange programs or just want to practice the language (English or Spanish) I'm always available, just contact me in here and I'll be happy to help!

That's all for today, take care and thanks!

My very first post

I don't really know why I'm starting this but... phew... well I guess boredom is really pushing me to do new things, maybe this time I will keep writting and won't leave this blog alone.

Please don't pay too much attention to my English writing, I know that sometimes it sucks but I promise that I'll do my best to make myself clear... I hope you all will understand what I'm planning on writting here.

I'm going to write about my life, my experiences in the U.S. and the way I look the American culture, about my very own country (Mexico) and our culture, and also about the things I like and the places I would like to visit some day, hopefully I won't make you sleepy and you will enjoy my stories.

Well... having said that, I leave you with my blog.
